GURNEY ALLIGATOR MOTORCYCLE PRODUCTION IN FULL SWING
ALLIGATOR WILL MAKE ITS EUROPEAN DEBUT AT
GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED
NEWLY RESTORED IMSA GTP EAGLE MK-III TOYOTA TRAVELS TO
EUROPE FOR THE FIRST TIME

Production of the first half of the
Limited Edition Gurney ALLIGATOR Motorcycle is nearing completion. This
production run has sold out and most of the motorcycles have been delivered
to riders and collectors around the country. The second half of production
will start in the coming weeks.
Since its introduction about a year ago,
the ALLIGATOR has received worldwide attention. This unique, some call it
revolutionary, motorcycle has been the subject of feature articles in major
motorcycle/car publications here and abroad and has been extensively
profiled in various television shows. The response from journalists and
clients alike:
GURNEY BUILT ONE FASCINATING MACHINE !
Quotes from English language publications:
AUTOWEEK, May 2002
"Gurney’s Gator is not just another
motorcycle. Startling in both appearance and specification, it features a
radically low solo seating position. Idiosyncratic? Sure, its inventor did
not become famous for his orthodoxy."
MOTORCYCLE CRUISER, August 2002
"A Motorcycle that is part cruiser, part sportbike, part
Formula One car. When you corner aggressively, you are not going over the
top of the bike or even countering movement with controlled use of your
bodyweight. Instead, you are an integral part of the chassis and the
slightest shift - what feels like a mere thought - affects steering in the
most wonderfully smooth and predictable way. The fact that the ALLIGATOR isn’t
exactly orthodox is its real challenge. Can you see outside the box? We are
curious to see how many of us can?"
CYCLE WORLD, Nov. 2002
"The A-6 sprinted from a stop to 30mph in just 1.1 seconds,
quicker than any other street bike CW has ever tested. Nothing with a
comparable power-to-weight ratio has come close. Similarly, the braking
performance of the ALLIGATOR was outstanding. The low seat height also
dramatically reduces frontal area, producing desirable aerodynamic results.
That explains how it is also the fastest street going Single that we have
seen. The ALLIGATOR can be flicked from side to side readily and quickly.
You’ll find yourself adjusting to the riding position in the first few
miles.
On the street, the ALLIGATOR accelerates hard and feels noticeably torquey
and strong, there is no production Single that runs anywhere near as well.
We have yet to talk to anyone who has ridden an ALLIGATOR and not come away
impressed by its handling ease and predictability. "
MOTOR TREND, February 2003
"Get the Alligator to a twisty road, and the ergonomic
philosophy becomes brilliant. The low cg creates a pendulum effect that
makes fast cornering feel effortless, predictable, and utterly holliganish."
BIKE MAGAZINE, England, February 2003
"Quality of the carbon fiber bodywork, made in house by AAR, is
stunning, the quality of the welding on the chromoly tubular chassis is
exquisite, the carbon fiber bodywork is flawless. Up close and in the flesh
the bike is smaller than it looks in pictures. It’s a masterpiece of
compact packaging. Framework is a joy. The steering is beautifully neutral
and stunningly accurate… just lean and then lean some more."
MOTORCYCLIST, April 2003
"After riding it, we can say that it is outrageous, unexpected
and completely original. The low center of mass encourages you to flick the
bike back and forth in transitions with the same abandon you feel in a small
sports car. If the modern sportbike were introduced today, after a century
of riding ALLIGATORS, it might not go over well at all. It’s really, truly
amazing that after more than a century of motorcycles, somebody can design
something that is so different, so unique and which works so well, right out
of the box. OK, after 20-plus years of hard work, but you get the
idea."
CYCLE WORLD, July 2003
"In an ideal world, this is the kind of machine that a major
manufacturer would initiate, develop and bring to market."
ALLIGATOR WILL MAKE EUROPEAN DEBUT AT THE
GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED
The ALLIGATOR will appear for the first
time in Europe during the upcoming Festival of Speed at Goodwood July
11-12-13. Dan himself will don his leathers and ride the Gator up the hill,
which promises to be a historic and unique moment.
IMSA GTP TOYOTA - EAGLE MK III COMES TO
EUROPE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Accompanying the Gurney ALLIGATOR
motorcycle will be the newly restored GTP Toyota Eagle MKIII. 10 years after
winning the GTP IMSA Sports Car Championship for the second time, with 21
victories to its credit including the 24-Hours of Daytona and the 12-Hours
of Sebring (twice), this awesome racing car will finally make its European
debut. GTP Champion Juan Manuel Fangio II will be coming to England from his
home in Argentina to be reunited with his machine, his former boss and also
his Crew Chief Gary Martin who restored the car in the last few months.
Fangio will drive the car up the famous Goodwood Hill to give the British
fans a taste of what GTP racing was like once upon a time in America.
